Fleurie Le Pied de la Rue Grand'cour (Domaine de la) - Jean-Louis Dutraive 2017
The wine
The Gamay grapes from this cuvée have benefited from organic cultivation in pink granite soils, and have been harvested by hand before undergoing semi-carbonic maceration without the addition of sulphur and non-native yeasts. The wine is then matured in stainless steel tanks, foudre tuns and oak casks. Produced in small quantities, it is prized for the finesse and freshness of its fruit.
About the Producer Domaine de la Grand'cour
Domaine de le Grand’Cor is owned by the Dutraive family. Their Gamay is produced under the Fleurie and the Brouilly appellations. The domain covers 11.7 hectacres and has held organic certification since 2009. Jean-Louis Dutraive does everything he can to allow the terroir be reflected in his wines. He vinifies without the use of sulfites and at low temperatures. He also uses natural yeasts and carbonic maceration. His wines are natural and are neither filtered nor clarified. It is a domain that has now established itself amongst the best that Beaujolais has to offer.
